Arranging mediation is a duty of the municipal social welfare board. The social welfare office will advise you of where to get family mediation. Family mediators are usually employed by social welfare offices and child guidance and family counselling centres. Municipal family mediation is free of charge.

Mediation may also be offered by family counselling centres of the Evangelical Lutheran Church and other licensed offices and personnel specialised in family counselling.
