Immunity

Immunity of Persons Participating in Preliminary Investigation or Court Proceedings Act. The law is aimed to protect a witness, expert or victim from prosecution, extradition, punishment or deprivation of liberty on account of his/her previous behaviour where he/she comes to participate in preliminary investigation or trial from a foreign country on the initiative of the appropriate authority. The immunity covers the stay in Finland of the person concerned.
