The International Unit is a separate unit directly under the Permanent Secretary.

The unit assists the Minister, Permanent Secretary and departments in dealing with international affairs and is responsible for legal cooperation projects of an international nature.

The unit also monitors international legal aid conventions and performs the duties that they provide for the Ministry as Central Authority.
