The Minister of Justice is Head of the Finnish Ministry of Justice. The Permanent Secretary assists the Minister in leading and developing the activities of the Ministry, the strategic planning and the management by performance of the administrative sector of the Ministry and the management by results of the Ministry.
The Ministry of Justice has a Department of Judicial Administration, a Law Drafting Department and a Criminal Policy Department.
Separate units not forming part of any department of the Ministry are the Administrative Unit, the Economy Unit, the International Unit, the Internal Audit Unit, the Information Service comprising the Information Management Unit and the Information Technology Centre of Judicial Administration, the Democracy and Language Affairs Unit, the Media and Communications Unit and the Management Support Unit.
