Please confirm your country’s participation (including names and contact details) by 3 April 2006. Please send your confirmation to Ms Hanna-Leena Iso-Ketola preferably by e-mail (firstname.surname@om.fi). We kindly request delegations to restrict their numbers to two delegates per country.
The easiest way to get into the city centre would be by taxi. The distance from the airport to the city centre is about 18 kilometres, 30 minutes by taxi.
The meeting of the DBR will take place at the Marina Congress Center located opposite the Scandic Hotel Grand Marina. We will have use of a conference room called Fennia II, located on the 2nd floor.
You can find the conference venue by doing a street name search for Katajanokanlaituri 6 in the Helsinki city map service.
We recommend that delegates stay at the Scandic Hotel Grand Marina. The hotel is located opposite the conference venue and convenient for delegates throughout the two day programme. The hotel is also within easy walking distance of downtown Helsinki and a number of tourist attractions such as the Presidential Palace, the Senate Square, the Cathedral and the Market Square.
We have provisionally reserved rooms and negotiated a special rate which is 127 EUR/night/room including buffet breakfast, morning sauna, gym and taxes. Conference participants who wish to remain at the hotel for the weekend (Fri-Sun) are also offered a special rate, 89 EUR/night/room. To guarantee the above price and availability, delegates need to make a booking directly with the hotel before 3 April, 2006. Please use the block code OIK110506 when booking. Please note that the hotel will require details of a credit card to guarantee the booking.
